The latest addition to the new Jon Ravech Chemsave Pharmacy is WILMA...No she’s not another human staff member but a high tech Pharmacy dispensing machine which gives us the added edge in providing super-fast customer service.
WILMA is computerised dispensing machinery that has the capacity to store a "whopping 7,000 drug and medication lines and dispense them in seconds."
WILMA is only one of three such machines in Victoria and the first in a non-hospital pharmacy. Her cost was around half a million dollars but Jon Ravech says that she is worth every cent.
Besides helping dispense medication for the pharmacists. Wilma has a host of in-built features which mean that each and every prescription dispensed is checked three times by the machine and another time by the pharmacist.
Wilma is located at the rear of the store in the pharmacy section behind the counter and when you are next in you are welcome to watch her go through her winning paces.
WILMA has also allowed pharmacists more face-to-face time to advise patients on Do's and Don’ts with individual prescriptions.
*And if you are wondering why she is called Wilma...it’s because dispensing computer software also used at the pharmacy is called FRED. So it seemed an obvious choice to name the new addition WILMA and ‘marry them off' just like the cartoon duo in the Flintstones series!

Besides the legendary Nicorette Chewing Gum which has been very popular now for many years, Nicorette has released QUICKMIST - its latest weapon in the fight to help people quit smoking.
There are times when you do not feel like using Nicorette chewing gum to satisfy a smoking urge or it may not be an appropriate facial action to use whilst performing the job that you are in.
Nicorette's new QUICKMIST is a clever little dispenser type of medication which you hold up to your mouth and spray once or twice when you would normally crave a cigarette or have cravings to smoke.
For best results don't swallow for a few seconds after spraying. This will allow the nicotine to be absorbed through the lining of the mouth.
There are 150 doses in a dispenser. The time that a dispenser lasts depends on the number of cigarettes that the person used to smoke per day and how much craving control is required.
For example, a smoker of 10 cigarettes per day should use around 10 to 20 sprays of Nicorette QUICKMIST per day. Using this scenario the spray would last around 1-2 weeks.
The recommended dose is 1-2 sprays when you would normally have a cigarette or when cravings occur. Use up to four sprays per hour. The maximum number of sprays per day is 64 within any 24 hour period.
This type of dosage proceedure should be kept up for the first six weeks of your quit smoking campaign and then reduced over the ensuing six weeks thereafter.
